Right now, from October 17 to 20, Rio de Janeiro is hosting another edition of Virada Sustentável (Sustainable Turn), an annual sustainable lifestyle event that takes place in cities throughout Brazil, bringing together people, groups, and public and private institutions, all centered on the common principle of sustainability. This year’s activities, hosted in locations around the city, feature a number of members of the Sustainable Favela Network (SFN)* that works to strengthen and multiply socio-environmental initiatives in Rio favelas, strengthening favelas’ potential as part of a sustainable urban future. SFN members will be holding events as part of the festival’s scheduled program. Check out topics, locations, and times below, and be sure to share!
